Bill's Story – Consultant's high-level skills transform organization

Bill, from the Niagara region is a semi-retired, international branding and marketing consultant who was looking for ways to apply his skills to help organizations in his community.

At the Niagara Centre for Independent Living (NCIL), Bill was able to apply his skills and help out the organization, which supports people living with disabilities. Bill helped the Board and staff to learn about the process of marketing and re-branding from online surveys to graphic design. The result was a comprehensive marketing plan, and a bold new look.

As the Executive Director of NCIL reflected, “There is no way we could have afforded to access even a single consultation from someone with Bill’s skill and experience.”

Volunteers Say...

"As a volunteer I receive excellent support and training.  I am free to volunteer in a capacity that fits my lifestyle and my health. I am not pressured in any way."

Doug, Volunteer

Did You Know?

Volunteering is a way to bolster community ties. It offers individual rewards, too. According to the Canadian Community Health Survey, "Close to two-thirds of those who felt a very strong or somewhat strong sense of community belonging reported excellent or very good general health."
