Michael's Story – Volunteering helps rebuild relationship between father and son

Michael, in his early fifties, was looking for ways to add some deeper meaning to his life. When he started to deliver Meals on Wheels to seniors in Toronto, he received an unexpected bonus.  His father, age 77, joined him one day and enjoyed it so much that he goes with him almost every time. During their deliveries, Michael and his father spend quality time together talking about everything under the sun and enjoying more time together than they did. As another benefit, Michael’s father is now ordering nourishing meals for himself and appreciates the chance to socialize, meet the clients, and ride with his son.
